Van bron Schaijkenaren keken vreemd op toen er in oktober 2020 ineens een levensgrote, appeltjesgroene S in het dorp stond. Het zorgde precies voor de reuring waar de mensen achter stichting Natuurlijk Schaijk op hoopten.

Natuurlijk Schaijk is er voor en door Schaijkenaren, en je bent al lid door alleen maar in Schaijk te wonen", legt Sanne Smit van de communicatiewerkgroep uit. Lid zijn betekent in dit geval niet dat je ook verplichtingen hebt, zoals bijvoorbeeld bij een voetbalvereniging. ,,Je bepaalt zelf of je iets wil doen en hoe vaak", vult haar collega Roy van Boekel aan. De oorsprong van de stichting ligt in 2017, toen de werktitel nog 'Toekomst van Schaijk' luidde. Van Boekel: ,,Zo’n zestig dorpsbewoners wilden zich er hard voor maken dat Schaijk leuk is én leuk blijft. Daar is Natuurlijk Schaijk uit ontstaan."
