The Assembléia Legislativa de São Paulo, houses the state assembly (know as deputados. It's situated next to the Parque Ibirapuera.
Sao Paulo was founded on January, 25, 1554 by jesuit priests. It offically became a city in 1711.
During the 19th century, the city experienced a wave of immigrants from Italy and Japan (to name a few countries.)Sao Paulo currently has the largest Japanese population outside of Japan.
The city itself has a population of over 11 million people.
