The start of the tour is the parking lot of the Casa Romana museum in the south of Kos. You should follow the main street (Leof Grigorio V) to the west (go left). After som distance you should see at your left hand a small amphitheatre. Follow the path to this amphitheatre, this is the Odeon and stop 1. The Odeon is reconstructed by the Italian archaeologists. It is the original theatre and was also used as council grounds for the Roman city of Kos.

Go to the other side of the main street and you've entered the western Archaeological site of Kos. This is stop 2. The site is characterised by two main streets, running east-west and north-south. The east-west street is the Via Decumana and is waymarked as an ancient road. Along this road and the north-south street there were several mansions with intact mosaic floors. These are now placed under a roof. In the northwest of the site is an early Christian church with a baptism font.

You can follow the north-south road into the street P. Tsaldari. Take the second street right and follow this street (the Leof El. Venizelou) for a long time. When you entered the intersection with the cafe Da Luz, go to the left (direction north). This street is leading you to a stairway. If you follow the stairway down you have entered the Eastern archaological section of Kos City. This is stop 3. This section contained the ancient marketplace (Agora) and several temples. In the southeast there are some apartment buildings (insulae).

If you've finished admiring the ruins, you should backtrack to the stairway and follow the street after the stairway until you reach a T-junction. Go to the right. After some 100 m you will have reached the Casa Romana. The Casa Romana is stop 4. This looks like a simple block-shaped building but if you pay the modest entry-fee you will enter great historical museum. The Casa Romana is an ancient mansion from the Roman Era which was excavated and completely reconstructed. There are intact mosaics, wall-paintings and two great courtyards with columns. After visiting the Casa Romana, follow the street to the parking lot and you are at the start again.
