The village of Kato Garouna has been well known for its talented stonemasons since the 16th century. In the 19th century, one of them was Georgios Kardamis, who was the creator of the bell tower of the local church Agios Nikolaos, amongst many other buildings.

He was buried in front of the church and his son created a marble plate with the sculpture of the stonemason in his traditional outfit showing him how he used to rest after an exhausting workday.

Below this plate the tomb is ornamented with two lion heads and a plaque saying "Tomb of Georgios N. Kardamis, 1906". I could not find any other information about this person.

Unfortunately the tomb is in a location difficult to overlook. There is a staircase at the right side, but the front can only be seen from below. And there is another fainted inscription at the side of the plate, that I could not decipher.
