This butterfly garden is part of the wider National Botanical Garden of Dominican Republic, in Santo Domingo.

This garden is fenced with net so butterflies are kept and grown on the location. It's a small space, not larger than 50 sqm, with lush green vegetation.

At the time of the visit there was only one species of butterflies in the garden, but individuals were numerous and more were coming considering the observation of the nursery.

Somehow the Butterfly Garden seems to have some degree of autonomy. Actually there is a small extra fee to enter the butterfly garden (25 DOP).
