The Iowa Children's Museum is a fun place for the kids attached to the Coralville Mall that also includes a full size indoor ice rink.

The Children's Museum is 28,000 square feet with several different exhibits. There is definitely a lot of hands on activities for kids of all ages. Since it is attached to the mall there is also plenty of shopping, a food court, indoor ice rink, and movie theater so you can make a full day trip here.
Admission is $5 for children and adults (1-59) and $4 for seniors (60+). It is free if you are a member.
