Enchanted Village originally was opened in 1977 by Byron Betts as a 12 acre kiddie park. Byron expanded it 7 years later to include a water park. In December 2000, Six Flags Inc. purchased the now 70-acre park for $19.3 million. They have updated the park and installed many new rides using an old west theme to unify the park's different areas. In January 2007 Six Flags sold Enchanted Parks and 6 other locations to another operator. The park at this time will retain the Six Flags logo, but will not be run by them. The park shows its age, but is still a fun place to spend the day. It is one of the only amusement parks in the state, and probably the largest.

Thanks to the updates done by Six Flags the park is much more fun for thrill seekers. It is still a great place for little ones, but the addition of 3 coasters and a water ride has helped it draw more teens. The water park section has also expanded, adding tube slides and the Konga River. Listed are some of the park favorites.

  • TIMBERHAWK - A thrilling wooden coaster that provides you the experience of a lifetime, taking you through the pine trees at freeway speeds.
  • LUMBERJACK FALLS - A 50-foot-tall splash coaster that soaks riders and participating on-lookers(shoot the chute).
  • WILD THING ROLLER COASTER - Super-fast steel looping roller coaster.
  • THE TIMBER AXE - A 360-degree thriller that shoots passengers high into the sky, flips them upside down, then sends them screaming back toward Earth.
  • I-5 SKY DIVE - Thrill-seeking daredevils take a 125-foot plunge. Additional costs associated.
  • The park is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. In October it opens for 2-3 weeks for the Fright Festival. A haunted house is built each year and the rides are open during this time. It's a lot of fun if you don't get caught in the rain.

Over the month of December the park opens for its Enchanted Lights event. The park is decorated with holiday light displays and the rides are open.
