J.A. Boom en Zoon founded in 1841 (visit link) in Meppel.

At its 125th anniversary on 05 October 1967 it donated a statue to the City of Meppel.

Statue of a woman in traditional costume with a bag in her hand And is named "Staphorst Woman" and is made by the Dutch artist (visit link) Theo van der Nahmer.

The plaque at the statue reads:

aangeboden aan de stad meppel
