The 16th century city hall of Venlo is a typical renaissance building and is located in the centre of Venlo.

Stadhuis, behoudens enkele restanten uit de midden-16e eeuw, in 1597-1601 opgetrokken door Willem van Bommel uit Emmerik. De voorgevel wordt geflankeerd door achtkantige torens van ongelijke hoogte en met open koepeldakjes. In 1609 zijn nieuwe trappen en bordes toegevoegd. Het is gemoderniseerd in de 18e eeuw. In 1880 voor en opzij in neo-renaissancestijl vernieuwd en voorzien van arkeltorentjes aan de achterzijde. Het pand is gerestaureerd in 1956-'57 waarbij het interieur zeer ingrijpend is gewijzigd. Nog aanwezig zijn: baldakijn, gerestaureerde klok in de raadszaal; luidklok 1494 en luidklok 1513.

City hall, except for some remnants from the mid-16th century, built in 1597-1601 by Willem van Bommel from Emmerik. The facade is flanked by octagonal towers of unequal height and with open domed roofs. New stairs and landings were added in 1609. It has been modernized in the 18th century. Renovated in the neo-Renaissance style at the front and sides in 1880 and equipped with arkel turrets at the rear. The building was restored in 1956-'57, during which the interior was radically changed. Still present: canopy, restored clock in the council chamber; ringing bell 1494 and ringing bell 1513.
