This fascinating place can be visited from Guanajuato. There is a bus passing nearby but perhaps an Uber ride will offer an easier way to get there.

The hacienda was bought by the municipality in 1977. By then the gardens were mostly redone and the main house was renovated. It's a charming atmosphere, offering a true trip back in time, when the rich family who inhabited the hacienda would roam around. The visitor can walk through most of the rooms... bedrooms, living rooms, dining room and even the family's chapel. All is furnished and decorated just like it was back in the 19th century.

The gardens are used to host events and in some specific dates the museum is closed to visitors because of this.
