El edificio está situado en la céntrica plaza de la Catedral de la capital albaceteña. Su sede y entrada principal es la casa de Hortelano, edificio modernista de principios del siglo xx, obra del arquitecto Daniel Rubio. Una pasarela conecta la casa de Hortelano con la antigua comisaría de la Policía Local de Albacete subterránea, sede también del museo.

En el museo se exponen obras de arte únicas del mundo de la cuchillería de todos los tipos, estilos, materiales y épocas.

Además, entre los múltiples espacios del museo se puede encontrar la recreación de un taller cuchillero, imágenes de antiguos talleres cuchilleros que forman parte de la historia de Albacete o una zona para la proyección de contenidos audiovisuales acerca de la fabricación de las navajas de Albacete.

El museo tiene una zona dedicada a acoger exposiciones temporales. Entre las más visitadas se encuentran las de cuchillos extranjeros y la exposición de las tijeras, inédita en el museo hasta entonces.

The building is located in the central Plaza de la Catedral in the capital of Albacete. Its headquarters and main entrance is the Hortelano house, a modernist building from the early 20th century, the work of the architect Daniel Rubio. A walkway connects Hortelano's house with the old underground Albacete Local Police station, also home to the museum.

The museum exhibits unique works of art from the world of cutlery of all types, styles, materials and periods.

In addition, among the multiple spaces of the museum you can find the recreation of a knife workshop, images of old knife workshops that are part of the history of Albacete or an area for the projection of audiovisual content about the manufacture of Albacete knives.

The museum has an area dedicated to hosting temporary exhibitions. Among the most visited are those of foreign knives and the exhibition of scissors, unpublished in the museum until then.
