La obra se localiza en el Paseo de la Libertad, junto a la Diputación Provincial. Realizada en bronce, es obra del escultor José Enrique Melero que la realizó en el año 2004.
En la escultura encontramos a los dos personajes, Don Quijote y Sancho, en animada conversación. Sancho escucha paciente y Don Quijote se muestra muy expresivo, escuchando los consejos de su amo…
Nos imaginamos la escena cuando Don Quijote le dice referida a la virtud de la templanza:
“Come poco y cena más poco, que la salud de todo el cuerpo se fragua en la oficina del estómago. Sé templado en el beber, considerando que el vino demasiado ni guarda secreto ni cumple palabra” (II, 43)
El tema de Don Quijote y Sancho Panza es uno de los más repetidos en la escultura urbana castellano-manchega y aparece en numerosos pueblos y ciudades de la comunidad.

We imagine the scene when Don Quixote tells him about the virtue of temperance:

The theme of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza is one of the most repeated in Castilian-La Mancha urban sculpture and appears in numerous towns and cities in the community.
