The City Museum in Bodø tells the story of Bodø and is part of the Nordland Museums.
There is both a permanent exhibition in the museum as well as a changing exhibition on the first floor. One of the very exciting things in the museum is a 1000 year old silver treasure which has been excavated near Bodø. But also Bodø's exciting history as a maritime city can be seen at the museum. In addition to exhibitions, there are also concerts, lectures and other events.
The building itself, which dates from 1904, is listed. Like many other buildings in Bodø, this one was also hit by bombs during World War II, but could be rebuilt.
