Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim is a building with many interesting details such as gargoyles, stained glass windows and various doors. This door is a simple wooden door, but it has a very special twisted door handle, and a very decorative wrought iron bracket.
Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim is Norway's most important church. It is considered both as Norway's national shrine and as a coronation church. The church was built 1150-1300 and significantly rebuilt between 1869-1983.
In a nearby shop you can buy a book about the cathedral and the conversions. We were inside the cathedral and saw the beautiful columns and the many sculptures. But we spent most of our time outside walking around the church and looking at the building and the many details. No two doors are alike, but each one is decorated differently. And if you just walk around the outside, it's free. Incidentally, there are several other historic buildings in the area by the cathedral.
