De ansichtkaart is uit 1937. Toen was er natuurlijk nog geen monument voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog en had de kerk daarom een andere vorm. Wel wrang om te weten dat het drie jaar hierna flink mis ging in Nederland.

De kaart was beschreven door een Engelsman en is opgestuurd naar een adres in Londen. Op de achterkant staat dat de schrijver Tuindorp een heel leuk dorp vond en verbaasd was dat het nog tot de gemeente Maartensdijk hoorde en niet bij Utrecht. De schrijver woonde op ongeveer 3 straten vanaf dit park.

The postcard is from 1937. At that time, of course, there was no monument for the Second World War and the church therefore had a different shape. It was bittersweet to know that three years later things went very wrong in the Netherlands.

The card was described by an Englishman and was sent to an address in London. On the back it is stated that the writer thought Tuindorp was a very nice village and was surprised that it still belonged to the municipality of Maartensdijk and not to Utrecht. The writer lived about 3 blocks from this park.
