Clinton's Eagle Point Park has the finest view of the Mississippi River for miles around. Just north of this point the Mississippi is 3 miles wide. It is the second widest spot on the entire length of the River. The widest, 3.1 miles, is near the mouth in Louisiana after many large rivers have joined the Mississippi.

In the winter there are many bald eagles flying around as they search open waters near the dams for fish. The woods below this point out near the dam is a favorite roosting place for the eagles, and it is closed during the winter months to hikers. The park entrance is just off US Highway 67 and the park is accessable all year around from 7:00am to Dusk.
