The current stone bridge was built in the early 19th century. The bridge has eight stone arches and is built of wedged stone. The Blidingholms bridge is one of the best preserved bridges in the region and is protected.
As early as the 16th century, there was a wooden bridge on the site, which 150 years later was replaced by another wooden bridge. The current stone bridge replaces the wodden bridge.
At the bridge there have been mills on both sides of the river.
Since the Middle Age eels have been caught here by the bridge. They are caught in a special eel trap called a "Värmane".
