Astrid Langjord (1885-1955) Norwegian author who published several poetry collections. De mest kendt er "Flyg mine fuglar" ( Fly my birds) (1951) og "Ei lita gjente gøymer seg" ( A little girl is hiding) (1956).
Astrid was also very involved in historical folk costumes. In 1926-28 she was the leader of a group of women who wanted to make a folk costume for Nordlandet ( called a Nordlandsbunad)
The statue of her just shows that she is wearing a Nordlandsbunad.

The sculpture is placed on top of a granite plinth.
