The bell tower that stands close to Strandtorget's shopping center has been donated to the city by Mesna Bruk.
Mesna Bruk was an industrial company in Lillehammer for over 200 years before it went bankrupt. A large shopping center has now been built in the area.
An aerial photo (visit link) shows the bell house on the green roof of a building. The bell was used to ring for work and for the evening shift for all the workers at the company.
In 2006, the bell house was donated to the city, and is now located on 4 wooden poles.

Text on the sign:
This bell tower has followed Mesna Bruk A / S for more than 100 years.
Mesna Bruk started planning Strandtorget's Shopping Center in 1986.
Lillehammer 2006.
