Ringebu is on of the largest Stave Church in Norway. The church is surrounded by a cemetery, which was inaugurated in 2015. It is a typical Norwegian cemetery. Tombstone with name, date of birth and date of death and often a small flower is planted.
The whole cemetery is surrounded by a stone fence. The entrance is through a lych gate.
Ringebu Stave Church is the main church in Ringebu Municipality.
The church was built around the year 1220. In 1630 it was renovated and at the same time the red bell tower was added. Previously, the bell tower stood in the cemetery.
Inside the church, two runic inscriptions have been found that are carved into the wall.
