This bridge, located in between US-35 and the Beech Hill United Methodist Church (1858), is one that I have passed many times in my travels, and was one of the inspirations for the Orphaned Bridges Category.
From what I have gathered, this bridge was abandoned during the "straightening" of US-35. It now lies in the yard of the Beech Hill Church. Although no longer accommodating vehicular traffic, pedestrians can still easily use it to cross the Nine Mile Creek. The deck is now covered in grass, and the concrete slowly crumbling.
