Salinas beach is one of the busiest sandy areas on the central coast of Asturias, Spain. It is located in Salinas (Castrillón), one of the most desired areas in the entire Asturian territory. It has multiple leisure alternatives and in its vicinity are the Real Club Náutico and the Real Balneario, which was demolished in the year 2000 and later rebuilt.
It has a sandy area that extends for more than 2500 meters, made up of very fine and golden sand. The beach is known for its strong waves, suitable for practicing sports such as surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing, however on both sides it has bathing areas more sheltered from the northeast wind.
It has an imposing 2000 meter long promenade, which completely borders the beach and directs the user to the Philippe Cousteau Anchor Museum, where you can find an important collection of anchors of all kinds and a 360º viewpoint located above from the cliffs. It should also be noted that nearby is the Pinar de Salinas, a natural space in which the visitor can find a recreational area with grills, wastebaskets, fountains as well as various resting places.
This beach has toilets, showers, footbaths, sun lounger rental, parking, wastebaskets and several food and drink stalls. It also has an emergency center and two secondary posts where the rescue service is located.
For all this, the beach has been receiving the blue flag for several consecutive years, the highest award for beaches and marinas, awarded by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC).
It is accessible on foot, by car or by bus, as there are stops on the L-1 line (La luz-Piedras Blancas) nearby."
