Vlak bij de schaapskooi op de Ginkelse hei in Ede staat het airbornmonument.
Het monument is in op 19 september 1960 door generaal-majoor Urquhart onthuld.
Het monument is geplaatst om de parachutisten te herdenken die bij de Slag om Arnhem gesneuveld zijn.
Op het stenen muurtje bij het monument staat de tekst
... zij zullen opvaren met vleugelen gelijk de arenden...
De Ginkelse Heide bij Ede was de luchtlandingsplaats waar op 18 september 1944 parachutisten van de 4e para brigade landden om deel te nemen aan de Slag om Arnhem. Het landingsterrein werd hieraan voorafgaand verdedigd door het 7e bataljon Kings Own Scottish Borderers.
Ieder jaar wordt op de derde zaterdag in september ter herdenking door huidige parachutisten van het Britse 4th Battalion op de Ginkelse Heide een luchtlanding uitgevoerd. Aansluitend vindt een kranslegging bij het monument plaats.

The airborn monument is located near the sheepfold on the Ginkelse Hei in Ede.
The monument was unveiled by Major General Urquhart on September 19, 1960.
The monument has been placed to commemorate the paratroopers who fell in the Battle of Arnhem.
On the stone wall near the monument is the text
... they shall mount up with wings as eagles...
The Ginkelse Heide near Ede was the airborne landing site where paratroopers of the 4th para brigade landed on September 18, 1944 to take part in the Battle of Arnhem. The landing area was previously defended by the 7th Battalion Kings Own Scottish Borderers.
Every year on the third Saturday in September an airborne landing is carried out on Ginkelse Heide by current paratroopers of the British 4th Battalion. Wreaths will be laid at the monument afterwards.
