DE: Das Gebäude hat eine lange Geschichte: Zwischen 1050 und etwa 1200 residierte in einem Vorgängerbau der jeweilige dänische König, um 1230 wurde das Gebäude von den Franziskanern in ein Kloster umgebaut, welches 1234 eingeweiht wurde. Der grauen Bekleidung nach nannte man es Graukloster. Nach der Reformation (etwa 1530) wurde das Kloster in ein Armenstift umgewandelt, zusätzlich zog der Rat der Stadt in die übrigen Räume ein. Im Jahr 1793 erfolgte dann ein weiterer grundlegender Umbau, die Klosterkirche wurde abgerissen und an ihrer Stelle das neue Rathaus errichtet, welches dann 1794 eingeweiht wurde. Seitdem wurde das Gebäude neben seiner Funktion als Rathaus auch für die Ständeversammlung (1836 - 1846), die Landesversammlung (Oktober 1848 bis August 1849) und den Provinziallandtag (1879 bis 1904) genutzt.

Die zweigeteilte Seitentür im klassizistischen Stil ist in einem blaugrauen Farbton gehalten, darauf sind in weiss umrahhmten grauen Kassetten Ornamente in weiss herausgearbeitet worden. Die Ornamente auf der rechten und linken Hälfte wurden dabei gespiegelt, in der oberen quadratischen Kassette befindet sich eine Girlande drapiert über zwei große Knöpfe, in der mittleren rechteckigen Kassette ein eiförmiger Pokal auf einem Podest, über den Pokal wurde ein Tuch abgelegt. In der unteren, wieder quadratischen Kassette ist ein rundes Tellermotiv mit Lorbeerkranz zu entdecken, zwischen mittlerem und unterem Kassettenteil befindet sich ein Balken mit geschnitztem Scheibchenmotiv. Die Türklinke ist auf der rechten Hälfte der Türe mit Ausrichtung zum Mittelbalken. Die Türzarge wurde aus Steinen gefertigt, obenauf befindet sich ein weiterer Steinblock, in den die Jahreszahl 1794 eingemeisselt und vergoldet wurde. Zu oberst befindet sich dann noch eine schmale steinerne Giebelkonstruktion.

The two-part side door in the classicistic style is kept in a blue-gray shade, on which ornaments in white have been worked out in white framed gray cassettes. The ornaments on the right and left halves were mirrored, in the upper square cassette there is a garland draped over two large buttons, in the middle rectangular cassette an egg-shaped cup on a pedestal, a cloth was placed over the cup. In the lower, square cassette, a round plate motif with a laurel wreath can be discovered, between the middle and lower cassette part there is a bar with a carved disc motif. The doorknob is on the right half of the door facing the center beam. The door frame was made of stone, on top there is another stone block in which the year 1794 was carved and gilded. At the top there is a narrow stone gable construction.
