The "Rose Window" in Nidaros Cathedral is a very beautiful window in many colors. It is called the "Nidaros rose" and measures in height 12 m and is 8 m in diameter.
It represents doomsday. In the middle is a red box that symbolizes Jesus. From here, red and yellow flames shine on a blue background, and at the end there are angels singing and playing. Finally, there are angels who foretell doomsday, and between them are the four evangelists Matthew, John, Luke, and Mark.
The Rose Window was made by Gabriel Kielland (1871-1960) and this window is his most famous work. The window was finished for the Olav anniversary in 1930.
