[FIN] Turun Taidemuseon museorakennuksen on suunnitellut arkkitehtiprofessori Gustaf Nyström (1856–1917) ja se valmistui vuonna 1904. Julkisivumateriaaliksi valittiin punainen graniitti, joka kiinnitettiin tiiliseinään. Pääsisäänkäynnin pilastereiden graniittisissa kapiteeleissa on kuvattuna neljä taidealaa symboloimaan Turun taidemuseota: arkkitehtuuri, maalaustaide, kuvanveisto ja insinööritaide. Rakennuksen pääjulkisivun ulkonevan osan molemmilla sivuilla on koristeiset, särmikkäät tornit. Sen katto on korkeaharjainen, taitteinen, osittainen lasikatto.
Taidemuseon ovi on tammesta. Siinä on kansallisromanttisia kukka ornamentteja. Oven yläpuolella on kaari-ikkunassa on lisää kukkakuviota metallista ja kaupungin A-kirjain. Oven reunustat on punaisesta graniitista. Ovessa on myös erikoinen kädensija, -pantteri!
[EN] The museum building of the Turku Art Museum was designed by Gustaf Nyström (1856–1917), a professor of architecture, and was completed in 1904. The façade material was red granite, which was attached to a brick wall. The granite capitals of the pilasters at the main entrance depict four art areas to symbolize the Turku Art Museum: architecture, painting, sculpture and engineering. There are ornate, faceted towers on both sides of the protruding part of the main façade of the building. Its roof is a high-bristled, folded, partial glass roof.
The door of the art museum is made of oak. It has national romantic floral ornaments. Above the door is an arched window with more floral metal and the city’s letter A. The door edges are made of red granite. The door also has a special handle, panther!
