Diese wunderschöne Wandmalerei heißt "Die Milchstraßenwand" und wurde 1986 vom steirischen Künstler Wolfgang Buchner geschaffen. Der obere Teil mit dem Hauptmotiv erstreckt sich über zwei Stockwerke, aber faktisch erstreckt es sich über die gesamte Höhe des Gebäudes. Das Bild besteht aus Blau-, Braun- und Weiß-Tönen und zeigt eine Milchstraße mit verschiedenen fantasievollen Bildfiguren, wie z.B:
- Das kleine Wellenrad
- Der Wassermann
- Der fliegende See und der Wasserfall
- Das Schiff und die Fische usw.
Auf www.landesarchiv.steiermark.at findet man einen 22seitigen Bericht des Künstlers selbst, in dem man sehr viel über das Gemälde und die vielen Einzelheiten erfahren kann und was sich der Künstler dabei gedacht hat. Als Beispiel über "Der Wassermann":
"Links neben der Milchstraße, am Ort seines Sternbildes, sitzt ein Wassermann. Ein stummer Betrachter des Alls. Gleichzeitig trägt er ein Modell mit sich: Den Erzberg als Fundort der Eisenblüte, die er im Bildraum als Milchstraße wiedererkennt. Neben ihm stecken Schi im Schnee. Die Schi-Enden aus Blättern, die Schneeteller aus Blüten der Schneerose. Fahrzeuge des gefrorenen Wassers. Gerätschaften eines Gletschergärtners. Ein Kindheitshinweis des Verfassers.
Der Erzberg als Bergwerk ist gleichzeitig ein Hinweis auf Eisen als wichtigen Rohstoff und Werkstoff des Landes, auf die Laboratorien der Metallurgie, die Hochöfen und Walzwerke, die Metallurgen selbst als Meister der Kunst der Legierung.
Die Bezeichnung des Sternbildes des Wassermanns (Aquarius, Aqr) geht auf die Regenperioden bei Völkern des Vorderen Orients zurück. Die Sonne wandert durch dieses Sternbild und läßt es vom Nachthimmel verschwinden, wenn der Höhepunkt der Regenzeit erreicht ist."

This beautiful mural is called "Die Milchstraßenwand" (The Milky Way Wall) and was created by Styrian artist Wolfgang Buchner in 1986. The upper part with the main motif extends over two floors, but in fact it extends over the entire height of the building. The mural consists of blue, brown and white tones and shows a Milky Way with various imaginative pictorial figures, such as:

- The flying lake and the waterfall
- The ship and the fishes, etc.

"To the left of the Milky Way, in the place of its constellation, sits an Aquarius. A silent observer of the universe. At the same time he carries a model with him: the Erzberg as the place where the iron flower was found, which he recognizes in the picture space as the Milky Way. Next to him are skis stuck in the snow. The ski ends from leaves, the snow plates from blossoms of the snow lily. Vehicles of the frozen water. Tools of a glacial gardener. A childhood hint of the author.
The Erzberg as a mine is at the same time a reference to iron as an important raw material and material of the country, to the laboratories of metallurgy, the blast furnaces and rolling mills, the metallurgists themselves as masters of the art of alloying.
The name of the constellation of Aquarius (Aquarius, Aqr) goes back to the rainy periods among peoples of the Near East. The sun passes through this constellation and makes it disappear from the night sky when the peak of the rainy season is reached."
