On the occasion of Sarpsborg's 1000th anniversary in 2016, the Sparebankstiftelsen DNB donated a sculpture called Genesis - The young Olav.
Performed by the artists Finn Eirik Modahl and Arne Revheim.
The sculpture is 5 m high, made of polished steel and surrounded by a water mirror. It relates to the history of Sarpsborg, the city by the water, which was founded 1000 years ago by Olav the Holy. And now the present can be reflected in young Olav.
King Harald V inaugurated the sculpture on July 29, 2016
