Standard Oil's red petrol pump from the 1930s was placed in front of the general and hardware store "Konsum" in Skansen amusement park in Stockholm. The approximately 2.5 m high, slender column has a tightly closing sight glass in the upper third, in which the gasoline pumped with a hand lever could be measured.
On top of the sight glass there is again a red cover, on top of which is a tightly fitting lamp housing made of white glass, which resembles a short, transverse cylinder. The logo is on both sides: a round frame in red, crossed by the metal letters "STANDARD" (formerly painted blue) with a red line above and below.
Standard Oil was founded in the mid-1920s and was renamed ESSO on May 15, 1939.
