This used to be the Bishops Palace in Roermond. From 1822 til 1996 this was the courthouse.

"The building was built from 1666-1670 to a design by Joseph van Halle, after the predecessor was destroyed in the city fire of 1665. The classicist entrance gate with checkered ionic pilasters is from this time.

The French arrived around 1796 and the palace was used, among other things, as a residence for the French general Miranda. After this, the palace was used as a court and from 1822-1996 it was a court."
