The Llorts iron mine allows us to discover the iron work in Andorra between the 17th and 19th centuries, at a time when this activity was one of the main sources of income in the country.
This mine, along with the mines of Sedornet and Els Meners de Ransol, supplied the forges of the parish of Ordino. The Llorts mine dates from the 19th century and was only exploited for four years, due to the small quantity of iron ore that was found inside.
The mine is currently open to the public during the summer season, and only a 30-metre-long gallery has been preserved.
