In Essen kwam ik op het centrale kruispunt tegenover de kerk dit café tegen. Het lijkt me een typische kroeg tegenover de kerk, waar de mensen na de mis nog een pintje gaan doen.

Via noordernieuws.be vond ik dat het café in 1911 gestart is. Eerst heette het 'de dry swaentiens', daarna ' in den arend en sinds 1952 heeft het de huidige naam.

In Essen I came across this cafe at the central crossroads opposite the church. It seems to me a typical pub opposite the church, where people go for a beer after mass.
