"KCU: an umbrella charity for the city of Utrecht.
Care for those in need. This characterizes the Catholic Caritas Institution of the City of Utrecht, formerly the Roman Catholic Parochial Poor Board of the City of Utrecht.
KCU is an independent part of the Roman Catholic Church Society and is under the ecclesiastical authority of the Archbishop of Utrecht.
The goal of KCU is to support the caritas activities, such as those carried out by the Parochial Caritas Institutions (PCIs) in the city of Utrecht.
KCU also supports other organizations with charitable objectives that are active in Utrecht.
KCU manages assets that arise from, among other things, bequests and donations. The proceeds of the assets are used for charitable purposes.
The projects that KCU financially supports must in one way or another have a link with the city of Utrecht.
Social inequality
A large part of KCU's work has to do with social inequality in our society. The Netherlands is a prosperous country
but nevertheless many live in poverty and threaten to fall between two stools in our society.
In addition, immaterial poverty in the Netherlands is increasing. A growing number of people feel lonely in our society.
KCU wants to meet these needs through project-based support"
