"Museum Schokland is located on the Middelbuurt, on one of the last three residential mounds. The museum is located in a collection of buildings around the historic church of the Middelbuurt. The buildings are characteristic of the former Zuiderzee area. Many bridal couples have already celebrated their wedding in the church.

The indoor and outdoor exhibits illustrate the geology and archaeology of the Noordoostpolder, the origin and disappearance of the island, the life of the Schokker population and the reclamation of the Noordoostpolder.

Permanent exhibition
In addition to the permanent exhibition and the audio-visual presentations on the history of the Noordoostpolder area and the World Heritage Site of Schokland, Museum Schokland hosts various temporary exhibitions on historical, archaeological or geological subjects throughout the year."
