The Indi Monument was created at the initiative of the Stichting Gedenkteken Indiegangers 's-Hertogenbosch, in memory of the thirty-five inhabitants of Bosschen who died during the police actions in the former Dutch East Indies.

In 2016, the Ouwestomp Foundation adopted the Indies monument on the Zuiderparkweg in 's-Hertogenbosch. The commemoration date is August 15, but to give everyone the opportunity in 's-Hertogenbosch, the foundation has chosen to hold the commemoration at this location on the last Saturday of August.
