EN: This stilt house stands near the shore of the lake in the public park at the Laténium, Switzerland's largest archeological museum in Hauterive near Neuchâtel.

It is the reconstruction of a dwelling house from the late Bronze Age, about 3000 years ago. It is mostly based on the findings in Cortaillod-Est and Auvernier-Nord, but very similar settlements were discovered all along the lake, also here in Hauterive.

The house sits on stilts to protect the rooms from the then regular floods. The major part of the walls are from wood, but there is also a section with mud walls. The top of the thatch has a small wooden cover.
