Vila Viçosa is a small historical town in Southern Portugal where kinds would rest and enjoy leisure time until the end of the Monarchy in 1910.

It's no surprise then that its historical heritage is considerable. In the center there was a convent where now exists this museum.

Its collection includes articles removed or donated by other religious sites in the region, namely, pieces of jewelery, furniture, painting and sculpture from the 16th and 18th centuries.
