At the age of 17, Koen van Vugt started as an apprentice butcher in Son en Breugel at Keurslager Schutjes. Koen has worked at Schutjes for about 2.5 years and has learned from scratch what the butcher trade entails. Go to school 1 day a week and work hard and learn a lot the other 5 days.
At the age of 20, Koen continued at the Beerens butcher shop in Eindhoven. A traditional butcher where Koen really got 'a peek behind the scenes'. Koen has learned everything a butcher has to do to be a good butcher during this period. Real entrepreneurship already appealed to him at that age. At the age of 25 he became the owner of Keurslager Elshout in Drunen, which he renamed to its current name.
