The Hudtwalckerstrasse underground station was opened in 1914 and is named after the street of the same name and the former Hamburg Senator Martin Hieronymus Hudtwalcker.
The corresponding name is located above both sandstone entrance portals, but it was misspelled.
Instead of "CK", the name was only written with "K". This was noticed very quickly, but was never corrected because of the disproportionate effort.
