Évora is an UNESCO World Heritage Site in southern Portugal. Amongst many other things to visit, one can explore the former residence of Eugénio de Almeida, a wealthy man who lived in the 20th Century and who created a foundation which still exists, promoting culture and helping those in need in Évora region.
This sculpture is on display on the grounds of the foundation, and access to the area is free of charge and available during the day.
The name of the sculpture is A Roda, which translates as The Wheel, and the author is Paulo Neves, an artist with considerable relevance in the Portuguese sculpting arts. He is focused in sculpture representing abstractions of wheels and had countless exhibits all around the country.
