The route is specially designed for mountain bikers. The route alternates between wider paths, but there are also some nice sections of single track in it. Because this is a relatively flat area, there is little height difference in the route. Yet the route builders have succeeded in exploiting the small differences in height that can be found in the terrain. The route contains short technical sections with small climbs and descents.
The environment in which you ride is very varied. The route takes you past a large heathland and several pools. You also cycle over a large plain where you have a wide view, also in this section are nice single tracks included. After cycling through the forest again, you will pass the Aekingerzand. In the Drenst-Friese Wold there is also a real flock of sheep and cows. So be careful not to ride over a cow or a sheep! The last part of the route goes through the woods again with alternating wider paths and nice curvy single tracks.
In itself, the route is not difficult. If you ride it in combination with the red route from Appelscha and/or the green route Diever/Hoogersmilde then you can speak of a pretty intense and varied route.

This route can be ridden together with the 4 km long red route (Appelscha-Bosberg) and the 28 km long route in Diever/Hoogersmilde.
