L’ensemble, restauré depuis peu, donne une impression d’élégance et de gravité. Sa façade maniériste (début XVIIème siècle) est à deux étages, marquée de pilastres sous un fronton à décrochement et un petit clocher. Elle a été inscrite à l’inventaire des Monuments Historiques de France en 1985.
A l’intérieur de l’église, on peut découvrir un pavement de marbre gris provenant de la Restonica, une nef unique qui offre d’intéressants effets de trompe-l’œil. On remarque un beau retable baroque qui surprend par son caractère très expressif. Au-dessus de l’autel, se trouve un grand médaillon en relief représentant la vierge de l’Apocalypse avec à sa droite deux Papes et à sa gauche deux pénitents en cagoule. L’église est dotée d’un orgue à l’italienne (orgue en fer forgé avec un clavier et sans pédalier).
La chapelle Sainte Croix est le point de départ de la célèbre Granitula (procession des pénitents masculins du Jeudi Saint)
