There is a stone frog sitting on it and on a metal plate it says: "75 years of Goldbrunnen water 1902-1977 / in grateful memory of the initiators and builders of our water supply / Titterten the 19th of October 1977".

There are two fountains in the square, one historical and one modern, as well as the covered shaft of a well.

For centuries, water supply was one of the biggest problems for the inhabitants of Titterten, which is located on a karstic Jura plateau. It was not until 1902 that a spring on the Wasserfallen mountain in the territory of the neighboring municipality of Reigoldswil could be tapped and supply the village with running water. But the arduous past has not been forgotten in the village and water still plays a major role in the community folklore and its self-image.

DE: Dieser Gedenkstein befindet sich an einem Platz im Dorfzentrum von Titterten. Er wurde 1977 zum 75-Jahr-Jubiläum der Wasserversorgung aufgestellt.

Es sitzt ein steinerner Frosch darauf und auf einer Metallplatte steht: "75 Jahre Goldbrunnenwasser 1902-1977 / in dankbarer Erinnerung an die Initianten und Erbauer unserer Wasserversorgung / Titterten den 19. Oktober 1977"

Auf dem Platz befinden sich noch zwei Brunnen, ein historischer und ein moderner, sowie der abgedeckte Schacht eines Sodbrunnens.

Die Wasserversorgung war jahrhundertelang eines der grössten Probleme der Einwohner von Titterten, das auf einer karstigen Jurahochebene liegt. Erst im Jahr 1902 konnte eine Quelle am Berg Wasserfallen auf dem Gebiet der Nachbargemeinde Reigoldswil gefasst werden und das Dorf mit fliessendem Wasser versorgen. Aber die mühselige Vergangenheit ist im Dorf nicht vergessen und das Wasser spielt auch heute noch eine grosse Rolle in der Gemeindefolklore und seinem Selbstverständnis.
