Danmark blev i 2000 godkendt af EU til erhvervsmæssigt at producere vine. Før den tid var det kun fremstilling af vin til eget forbrug, der var godkendt.
Skærsøgaard Vin startede i 2001 og er den første autoriserede danske vingård. Der er ca 25000 vinstokke og i høsten hjælper mange frivillige til med at plukke vindruerne.
Fra starten har Skærsøgaard Vin produceret : Rød-, rosé-, hvid-, dessert- og mousserende vine. Med tiden er der også fremstillet brændevin, frugtvin, hedvin ligesom flere økologiske vine produceres.
På Skærsøgaard er der en gårdbutik, hvor alle deres produkter kan købes. Vinene sælges dog også i forskellige butikker rundt i landet.

In 2000, Denmark was approved by the EU to produce wines commercially. Before that time, only the production of wine for own consumption was approved.
Skærsøgaard Vin started in 2001 and is the first authorized Danish winery. There are about 25000 vines and in the harvest many volunteers help to pick the grapes.
From the beginning, Skærsøgaard Vin has produced: Red, rosé, white, dessert and sparkling wines. Over time, spirits, fruit wines, liqueurs have also been produced, and more organic wines have been produced.
At Skærsøgaard there is a shop where all their products can be bought. However, the wines are also sold in various shops around the country.
Guided tours are arranged throughout the summer.
