Whilst visiting the beautiful temple grounds of the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan temple, we saw this owl swooping down to get us... It is a really fun topiary made from a bush and some fiberglass components.
from klm.com about the temple:
The beautiful temple Ulun Danu Bratan is located on a peninsula on the shore of the sacred crater lake Bratan. This lake plays an important role in the irrigation of the surrounding area and the southern areas of the island; hence the temple complex is dedicated to Dewi Danu, the goddess of water.
The temple dates from 1633 and consists of a complex of temples spread over several islands. In fact, it is a half-Hindu, half-Buddhist temple, with the altar at the center of the ceremonies. The main temple - the Pura Teratai Bang - has a characteristic tower of 7 layers, while on another island there is a temple with no fewer than 11 roofs. If you look closely, Ulun Danu Bratan, because of the way the sacred building is constructed, seems to float on the water.
