Magnificent hike for the family and discovery of troglodyte houses. Great view. Do not hesitate to do it. There are several hikes available depending on endurance (easy, medium, difficult).

"Le Barry is a troglodyte village with a medieval village and a castle built on a clod above, the site has been closed since 2009 as a result of landslides.

Most homes are dug in a Miocene sandy molasse called safre. The site has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Inside the houses, there is a main room around which there are several alcoves, a sink, a fireplace. Nearby there are wells serving as cisterns and a soue for raising pigs.

Due to the friable nature of this soft limestone sandstone, the village was abandoned at the end of the 19th century, due to the risk of landslides. The population then settled in Saint-Pierre de Sénos, at the foot of the hill where was installed the Roman relay Somenagus. "
