La Fuente de Cacho, is much more than a simple source or song, both for the people of Santander and for the racinguistas. It is something that we carry practically in our DNA, we have its letter written by fire in our hearts. For the fans of Real Racing Club, it has become the UN official anthem of the club, they sing their lyrics before each game for years.

HISTORY OF THE CACHO FOUNTAIN The history of this fountain is full of controversy, while there are those who locate this fountain in El Sardinero, Alameda Primera that is mentioned in the song is at the other end of the city. Others enclave the song in Cajo, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Santander, also use the term "Fuente de Cajo". There are versions for almost all tastes, but what is certain is that today, this fountain is located in El Sardinero.

LOCATION OF THE CACHO FOUNTAIN Currently, the Cacho Fountain is located on Avenida de Antonio Maura, in El Sardinero, near Los Pinares, Jardines de San Roque, Plaza de Italia and the Gran Casino del Sardinero.

LETRA DE LA FUENTE DE CACHO Do not forget the lyrics of this song is one of the "10 CANTABRIAN COMMANDMENTS", for this same reason, here are the lyrics so that you never forget it:

english: Yesterday I saw you going up Alameda Primera, wearing the white skirt and the silk scarf. Tell me where you go brunette, tell me where you go salty, tell me where you go brunette, at two in the morning. I go to the Cacho fountain, to drink a glass of water, which I have been told is very good, to drink it in the morning. Tell me where you go brunette, tell me where you go salty, tell me where you go brunette, at two in the morning. I go to the garden of Valencia, to tell the gardener, to give me a white rose, that I don't have them in my garden, Tell me where are you going brown, tell me where are you going salty, tell me where are you going brown, at two in the morning.

ORIGIN OF THE SONG LA FUENTE DE CACHO The origin of the mountain song of Fuente de Cacho has many questions. A Catalan scholar, José Arias Velasco assured that "La Fuente de Cacho" was composed by Emilio Carral, an anarchist watchmaker, leader of the labor movement and creator of the Mountain Choirs. Emilio had written a novel Tenkia, with a Russian atmosphere, and a play The Sunset of Hates, in three acts and with a high social content, which was performed in several South American countries, including Brazil. The Cantabrian lawyer Nobel Carral, Emilio's grandson and son of another Nobel Carral, former Racing Santander center forward who scored three goals at Zamora Fútbol Club on a historic afternoon, has no evidence that the song is from his grandfather. According to him, he had many written lyrics that were sung by the Mountain Choirs. At that time, he pointed out that "the soap factory 'La Rosario' sponsored the performances of the choirs and carried out some programs where the authors appeared. All that, logically, has been lost." Another scholar, Ramón Saiz Viadero, knows a lot about the history of Emilio Carral but does not know if he was the author of the song.
