New Kids, tijdens de eerste twee seizoenen New Kids on the Block genoemd (naar de boyband met die naam uit begin jaren 90), is een Nederlandse televisieserie, voor het eerst uitgezonden op Flabber en later te zien geweest bij 101 TV en Comedy Central. De serie is geschreven door Steffen Haars en Flip van der Kuil. In de serie staat een groep 'foute' hangjongeren uit het Noord-Brabantse dorp Maaskantje centraal. De televisieserie werd gevolgd door twee bioscoopfilms, New Kids Turbo en New Kids Nitro.

De serie gaat over de vijf hangjongeren Richard Batsbak, Rikkert Biemans, Gerrie van Boven, Barrie Butsers en Robbie Schuurmans in het Noord-Brabantse dorpje Maaskantje. In de eerste twee seizoenen werden ook wel afleveringen gewijd aan andere personages. Ze gedragen zich in de stijl van de happy hardcore-cultuur, drinken dagelijks blikken Schultenbräu-bier, eten snacks in de lokale snackbar 't Pleintje, met name broodjes bakpao, en ze rijden hun dorp rond met de groene Opel Manta van Rikkert. Hun stopwoord is 'Kut'. Daarnaast is de groep asociaal, wordt er veel gevloekt en wordt geweld niet geschuwd. Terugkerend in de serie zijn vandalisme en plotselinge aanrijdingen.

Het introfilmpje is gefilmd voor het plaatsnaambord van Maaskantje wat hier vroeger stond. Na de populariteit van de serie werd het bord telkens gestolen en heeft men besloten het plaatsnaambord te verwijderen.

New Kids, called New Kids on the Block during the first two seasons (after the boy band with that name from the early 1990s), is a Dutch television series, first broadcast on Flabber and later shown on 101 TV and Comedy Central. The series was written by Steffen Haars and Flip van der Kuil. The series focuses on a group of 'wrong' loiterers from the North Brabant village of Maaskantje. The television series was followed by two feature films, New Kids Turbo and New Kids Nitro.

The series is about the five loiterers Richard Batsbak, Rikkert Biemans, Gerrie van Boven, Barrie Butsers and Robbie Schuurmans in the North Brabant village of Maaskantje. In the first two seasons, episodes were also dedicated to other characters. They behave in the style of the happy hardcore culture, drink cans of Schultenbräu beer every day, eat snacks in the local snack bar 't Pleintje, especially bakpao sandwiches, and they drive around their village with the green Opel Manta van Rikkert. Their safety word is 'Kut'. In addition, the group is anti-social, there is a lot of cursing and violence is not shunned. Recurring in the series are vandalism and sudden collisions.

The intro film was filmed in front of the Maaskantje place name sign which used to be here. After the popularity of the series, the sign was stolen and it was decided to remove the place name sign.
