[FIN] Betel- kirkko on hyvinkin piilossa Turun keskustassa aivan Yliopistokadun kävelykadun varrella. Moni Turkulainen ei sitä ole huomannut.

Se on ollut vuodesta 1984 Turun adventtiseurakunnan käytössä. Vuodesta 2013 kirkkoa käyttää myös Suomen evankelisluterilaiseen lähetyshiippakuntaan kuuluva Pyhän Paavalin seurakunta.

Kirkko valmistui jugendtyyliin Frithiof Strandellin suunnittelemana vuonna 1906 alun perin ns. Hannulan herätyksestä syntyneen Turun Lähetysyhdistyksen käyttöön. Myöhemmin kirkkoa ja sen ympäristöä muutettiin Erik Bryggmanin vuonna 1927 tekemän suunnitelman mukaisesti. Kirkkoon muun muassa rakennettiin Bryggmanin suunnittelema funktionalistinen kellotorni.

Kirkon edessä on sisäpiha, joka toimii viereisen hotellin parkkipaikkana. Kirkon kivijalassa on Turun ehkä vanhin kasvisravintola. Betel-kirkolle pääsee yliopistonkadulta nousemalla hotelli- ja liikerakennuksen lävitse vievän holvimaisen rappuskäytävän kautta.

[EN] Bethel Church is well hidden in the center of Turku, right along Yliopistokatu pedestrian street. Many people in Turku have not noticed it.

It has been used by the Turku Adventist Church since 1984. Since 2013, the church has also been used by the St. Paul's Congregation, which is part of the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission.

The church was completed in the Art Nouveau style, designed by Frithiof Strandell in 1906, originally the so-called For the use of the Turku Mission Association, which was born from the revival of Hannula. Later, the church and its surroundings were altered according to a plan made by Erik Bryggman in 1927. Among other things, a functionalist bell tower designed by Bryggman was built in the church.

There is a courtyard in front of the church, which serves as a parking lot for the hotel next door. At the foot of the church is perhaps the oldest Vegetarian Restaurant in Turku. Bethel Church can be reached from yliopistonkatu by ascending through a vaulted staircase leading through the hotel and commercial building.
