The Government of Asturias will activate next Monday, June 22, the special transport plan to the Lakes of Covadonga , coinciding with the passage to the new normal and with the opening of mobility between autonomous communities, once the state of alarm .
This project, agreed between the Ministry of Infrastructure, Environment and Climate Change and the City Council of Cangas de Onís, incorporates a new protocol for the sale of tickets , which can be carried out in advance through the website www.alsa.es and other digital platforms. This formula will guarantee a place for users at the chosen round trip time . However, there will also be flexibility to make changes.
Travelers who purchase their tickets in person will not be guaranteed a seat , so the General Directorate of Mobility and the Asturias Transport Consortium recommend that users use the advance sales channels, in order to organize the visit more comfortably and security.
The plan , which will maintain the highway cut-off times set for this year, will remain active between June 22 and October 12 uninterruptedly, in addition to Saturdays and Sundays of that last month; November 1 and 2 , and December 5 to 8 .
The rates do not experience variations, with 9 euros for adults and 3.50 for children from 4 to 12 years old . Children under 3 years travel for free . On the other hand, the price for parking remains at 2 euros per day.
In addition, a strict cleaning and disinfection protocol will be followed for the vehicles used in this service that meet demanding environmental parameters and collaborate in the protection of the environment in such a special area. At all times, the user will be informed about the obligations in health matters, including the use of a mask.
The Principality will promote the transport plan through digital means and will request associations and groups of tourism entrepreneurs to disseminate the information among their clients throughout the regional geography. This service, which broke record users in 2019, with more than 250,000 people , aims to become a key element in the economic reactivation of Asturian tourism this year, offering a safe and high-quality service.
